<p>The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the first Samsung foldable that most reviewers agree feels finished, not experimental. It is thinner, lighter and the hinge no longer dominates the design.</p>
<h2>Design and build</h2>
<p>At just over 4mm when unfolded, the Z Fold 7 is the thinnest big-screen foldable Samsung has shipped. The weight drops below 220 grams, which puts it inside slab-phone territory.</p>
<h2>Display and crease</h2>
<p>The inner 8-inch display has a much less visible crease than earlier generations. The outer 6.5-inch cover screen is now a normal phone-sized display, which fixes the long-standing narrow-phone complaint.</p>
<h2>Cameras and chip</h2>
<p>The 200-megapixel main sensor is borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy powers the phone, and thermal performance is meaningfully better than the Fold 6.</p>
<h2>Software and AI</h2>
<p>One UI 8 ships with Galaxy AI features tuned for the large screen: split-view Circle to Search, live translate in full-screen video calls, and a much-improved on-device Gemini Nano.</p>
<h2>Should you buy it</h2>
<p>If you are on a Fold 4 or older, this is the generation to upgrade. Fold 6 owners should wait for the next cycle.</p>
