Tesla is scaling its robotaxi service to a second wave of US cities. Here is the full list and how the app works.
<p>Tesla has confirmed the next wave of US cities getting its Robotaxi service, following the initial Austin launch. The rollout uses Model Y vehicles running the company's supervised autonomy stack, with a safety monitor in the front passenger seat for the first phase in each new market.</p>

<p>According to CEO Elon Musk on the latest earnings call and confirmed in the Tesla app rollout notes, the next markets are Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta. State-level approvals in California are still pending on some routes.</p>
<h2>How to ride</h2>
<p>Riders open the Tesla app, tap Robotaxi, and choose a pickup and drop-off within the service zone. Pricing is currently a flat trip minimum in each city, with Tesla saying dynamic pricing is coming later this year.</p>
<h2>Safety and regulation</h2>
<p>Tesla is still being reviewed by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on several open investigations. The company says each expansion market gets a limited fleet during a monitoring period before wider rollout.</p>
<h2>How it compares to Waymo</h2>
<p>Waymo is fully driverless and operating in San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Austin. Tesla's approach is different because it uses camera-only vision instead of lidar. Whether that scales safely is the debate that will define this decade of autonomous driving.</p>
